SEATTLE — Woodland Park Zoo is seeking a boy who helped rescue a rejected Humbolt penguin egg while visiting the zoo April 3.
The boy is described as 7 or 8 years old with blonde, curly hair. He was wearing white T-shirt on the day of visit.
He alerted the keeper, Celine Padro, that he could see an abandoned egg on a cliff in the exhibit.
Pardo immediately followed the boy’s tip and scooped up the egg.
The egg hatched on April 5. Along with another egg hatched at the zoo, they represent the first chicks of the breeding season.
“We’d like to find him and extend an invitation to go behind the scenes to meet the chick and help name it,” said Pardo.
