Sound Transit provided fraudulent data on the ballot in order to secure funding for its ST3 projects. The investigating committee “determined Sound Transit deceived legislators and the public” to secure funding. This is the definition of a scam and fraud.
If this were a bidding contractor for a project or a citizen, it would be fraud with prison time and restitution required! This is a crime. So why was the crime of ST3 not overturned immediately?
Tim Eyman had numerous initiatives for tax relief for all citizens of Washington pass overwhelmingly. Yet the state chose to overturn all of these without true cause!
Now the state is on a witch hunt to eliminate him. All he did was make what appears to be a personal loan, which is not illegal (“Judge: Attorney general can resume lawsuit against Tim Eyman,” The Herald, Jan. 8). This not secretly moving money nor is it breaking any laws as the state alleges.
ST3 clearly was a scam against the public and indicates an actual crime which is where the state needs to do its job of protecting citizens. Washington state needs to look in its own backyard for decades of wrongdoing and excessive taxation against citizens and drop their efforts to destroy the one person trying to protect us.
Also, the Jan. 8 letter to the editor against Eyman is incorrect (“Why does Tim Eyman just run for office?”). Eyman, like every citizen, is responsible to determine right and wrong for our elected representatives. Eyman would win a governor race by a landslide as displayed by the passage of his initiatives! As governor of Washington, he can initiate real change to protect citizens and watchdog our government properly to prevent scams like ST3 from happening here.
