Checking the facts on Trump supporter’s claims

One shouldn’t be surprised at the low-information voter. Case in point was a recent letter explaining the author’s reasons for voting for Donald Trump. Reality is just the opposite.

Inflation is being caused by the greed of monopoly corporations. High gas prices are caused by Russia’s Putin and Saudi Arabia cutting production, and oil companies keeping prices high in election year.

Immigration is not an invasion, it’s now at its lowest point since the pandemic. And on Trump’s insistence, Republicans voted against a bipartisan bill to improve laws and increase funding for border security. Trump has promised to use the government agencies to go after his perceived enemies. Media don’t report Biden’s achievements; it’s Trump 24/7. So much for conservative voices being silenced.

On Biden family “corruption”: nothing said of Trump’s daughter getting hundreds of patents in China, or the billions of dollars given to his son-in-law by Saudi Arabia. Let alone Trump being found liable for sex abuse, 34 counts of fraud, trying to mount an insurrection, denying a free and fair election or keeping classified documents and potentially selling them to our enemies.

But one without intellectual curiosity or go beyond Fox News propaganda wouldn’t know this. Gool luck; the demise of American democracy is on your head.
