The tax revenue distribution for the Netherlands, courtesy of the official 2014 revenue statistics, is:
Payroll taxes: 0 percent
Property taxes: 3 percent
Corporate taxes: 5 percent
Other/miscellaneous taxes: 12 percent
VAT: 18 percent (basically a 21 percent sales tax, with some exceptions)
Income taxes: 20 percent
Social Security: 41 percent
So, yes, property taxes are lower in the Netherlands, as are corporate taxes. The income tax rate starts at 36 percent of income up to about $20,000 with marginal rate increases up to 52 percent at about $ 72,000.
