Sacha Baron Cohen of “Borat” fame is at it again. In his new guise, as Bruno, a flamboyantly gay fashion writer, the actor conned his way onto an Alabama National Guard base.

National Guard officials aren’t laughing — just like the folks who snickered at the opening scenes of “Borat,” only to later learn that Cohen and his crew bamboozled impoverished Eastern Europeans into looking foolish on camera.

Extraordinary rendition time? President Barack Obama vows to “pursue every legal avenue” to stop insurance giant AIG from paying millions in bonuses to its executives.

It’s a huge long shot, but perhaps the Obama team should think about dusting off the Bush administration’s playbook — except they’d be waterboarding CEOs instead of Kabul cab drivers.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day: On this day in the third century, St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, died. Let’s raise a glass to his memory with Herald writer Ron Ramey’s Irish coffee recipe.
