Lawmakers in Olympia heard debate Wednesday on a couple of marijuana-related bills (Page B1), including one that would legalize, regulate and tax weed.

The measure also would allow pot to be sold at state-owned liquor stores, which would then become the only head shops in the world that aren’t decorated with black light posters and don’t reek of incense.

Wedding in a can: A Spokane couple hope to pay for their upcoming wedding by collecting and recycling aluminum cans (Page A5). Instead of Target and Macy’s, they’re registered with roadside litter pickup crews.

At the ceremony, they’ll seal their vows by placing an empty beer can on the floor and stomping it flat.
