I am offended by the Sept. 2 sports headline “Bryant’s rape case dismissed.” I purchase The Herald on a daily basis to read the outstanding writing by its staff. I read the sports section in particular to keep up with local high school sports, Huskies, AquaSox, Mariners and, much to my own surprise, the Silvertips. The Kobe Bryant rape case is a criminal case. It should be relegated to the section of the newspaper that deals with those issues. Kobe Bryant as an athlete? I’d like to see it in the sports section. Kobe Bryant’s legal information? Certainly it’s not worthy of the headline.
