I, nerd: Lego will soon launch the latest version of its Mindstorm robot kits, and Silicon Valley engineers can’t wait. Many of them say the kits, introduced in 1998, inspired them to pursue careers in technology.

Also, Silicon Valley engineers are among the few Americans who still can afford to drop 350 bucks on a plastic kids’ toy.

C’mon, get happy: The keys to happiness are not $350 plastic kids’ toys, but positive thinking, acceptance of things the way they are, and living in the present, a local psychologist says.

And if those things don’t work, there’s always liquor and ice cream. Or one of those bags of Doritos handed out at last weekend’s Hempfest by the Seattle cops. They’re going for nearly $60 on eBay.

Is our children learning? Mexico’s federal government printed 235 million copies of an elementary school textbook that contains hundreds of grammatical, spelling and geographical errors.

Because of the errors, writing “This Book Sucks!” on the textbooks’ covers will not be considered vandalism, but rather will be deemed as an important step in developing critical thinking skills.
