The pandemic made it easy to forget the sounds and traffic of school zones because many school campuses were closed for a year. School zones limit speeds to 20 mph, but every day I am seeing cars speeding at 4 5mph through these flashing zones.
Recently, the students speeding on Wetmore Avenue between Everett High buildings were driving way too fast, then got mad at a driver on 24th who stopped in time to avoid them. I don’t know what driving schools are teaching students but it would be a good thing to see some enforcement in this area.
I am seeing pedestrians have to jump out of the way because cars are driving recklessly fast. A little less attitude and more following the rules of the road would be a good thing. It might save a life.
