At Bank of America’s annual meeting Wednesday, shareholder after shareholder berated CEO Brian Moynihan for controversial practices including the bank’s handling of foreclosures and association with the payday lending industry. Outside the meeting, protestors shouted slogans and scuffled with police.

For his part, Moynihan attempted to mollify critics by offering a free toaster with every mortgage modification that’s delayed when BofA “loses” the paperwork.
