So let’s try this again. Who out there really cares if those drivers speeding through school zones, running red lights or passing stopped school buses that happen to be letting children off at school or home, pay for their infractions? I’ve read all these stories as if this is a money issue. Folks, it’s a safety issue!
The cameras scare offenders into slowing down and paying attention and I have no problem with that. If the municipalities should benefit monetarily from these infractions, what’s the problem? Good for them. Let them pay some of my taxes!
I’m wondering when I read these position stories what a child’s life is worth to the writer. What is your family’s life worth if someone runs a light and hits you? Think, folks, these cameras and their purpose don’t matter as long as they result in making even one of those things not happen. I believe I am in the majority here; the sad part is the majority keeps quiet. It’s time to open your mouths and be heard. Be heard or someone else will always run your life!
