After reading the article about Blayne Perez shooting and mutilating wounded animals in his neighborhood and at the local park, I can’t understand why this person is not in a controlled environment (“Everett man sentenced to 3 years of probation for mutilating animals,” The Herald, March 28).
This man definitely has problems that are behind his ability or maybe his desire to control. Lack of empathy for other living beings is a danger to all of us.
Even hunters who shoot for food try for a quick kill. This man should at least be doing the standard time in jail for animal cruelty.
Isn’t that what laws are for. Isn’t this behavior a warning sign for further violence.
