I think it’s nice the New York Times wrote a piece about a California couple having a home built on Orcas Island. I am at a loss for why the Daily Herald ran the article, even in Panorama.
I’m pretty sure readers know what a beautiful region the Northwest is, and that people build second houses in the San Juans. But it is not relevant to Snohomish County and there is so much other interesting “Panorama-style” news that is specific to our region.
How about the newspaper focus on news of interest to its readers? Housing? Environment? Great academic or STEM programs? Inspire and educate us. We don’t need to be reminded again that wealthy people like to retire in the San Juans.
