Stuck in the middle
Middle-born children are not angry and resentful, and, in fact, are great negotiators and innovators, a psychology professor argues in her new book.
And the nation’s middle children agree, pointing out that they’ve totally come to terms with the fact that Mom and Dad liked their oldest and youngest kids best, and they learned to resourcefully make do with hand-me-downs, only to watch the parents buy new stuff when the baby came along.
What’s that you say? Politicians and lobbyists say excessive government regulation and fear of higher taxes burden businesses, but that view was not shared by a random sample of small-business owners across the nation, McClatchy Newspapers reports.
Asked to comment, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce stuck its fingers in its ears and said, “la-la-la-la-la-la-la.”
