They’re not laughing with you, they’re laughing at you

A crystal skull that looks like the ones that figure prominently in the new Indiana Jones movie goes on display today at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

Unlike the skulls in the movie, this one has no ancient magical properties — a researcher says it probably was carved in the 1950s.

In other words, it’s as phony as that scene in which Indy survives a nuclear blast by climbing into a refrigerator.

In other science news, it turns out that there’s a word for people who are convinced others are laughing at them — they’re gelotophobic.

Oddly enough, Russian comedian Yakov Smirnoff thinks he’s a gelotophobe. Actually, he’s a hypochondriac.

Dorky eyewear will always get you laughed at, which is why you should check out our guide to trendy glasses.

Bold colors and futuristic frames are in this year — as are those Wayfarers worn by the young — and not yet nutty — Tom Cruise in “Risky Business.”

But if you want to be laughed at, just stick some tape on your new frames.
