I cannot support, approve or even condone the violence over the last few days. From my life of 72 years of privilege I can only barely understand the injustice and anger that has led to the riots, destruction and violence.

I do feel qualified in condemning so many people in authority, mostly old white men (like me), and especially the current occupant of the Oval Office whose first response must be fear followed quickly by use of power, force and threats. There seems to be little (or no) thought given to what led to the injustice and anger.

Our society has improved from the 1960s. Unfortunately, we still have farther to go than we have progressed.
