Trump, supporters should define what is meant by ‘great’

Margaret Fast in her June 27 letter to the editor, defended Trump conservatives by saying he wants to Make American Great Again. But neither she nor Trump specify what would make America great. And that’s frustrating for liberals as it means Trump conservatives believe America was great, lost it, and now needs to be made great again.; whereas liberals believe America has always been great despite blunders along the way to direct democracy.

Without specific details as to what Trump conservatives define as ‘great,’ liberals are left to observe Trump’s actions, which are moving government toward autocracy and cronyism even as his words say he is supporting freedom and ordinary citizens. This is so boldly duplicitous beyond the lies of Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Reagan and Bush who tricked us into wars that I wonder what misadventure Trump has in mind.

Perhaps Ms. Fast knows and will be so kind as to tell us and specifically details what will make America great.
