I am Lillian Knapp, the mother of Darrell, Sandy and grandmother to Noah Knapp.

They were killed in a needless accident on the stretch of I-5 where the new barriers are going in.

My granddaughter, Fawn Ringen, completed what she set out for, and that was to make this stretch of the road safer.

They won’t bring my children back, but they might save someone else’s children and grandchildren.

I live with the nightmare all the time. I pray for peace to come to me and the remainder of my family.

I thank the state of Washington for finally doing what is right. It will save lives and taxpayers’ money.
