You turned off the power, right? One of the few truly real reality shows is on DIY. “Renovation Realities” features novice couples doing their own home renovations with no knowledgable host to guide them. Typically, the shows end in rubble and without a “reveal” of the completed project.
Of course, DIY isn’t the first channel to feature a show like this. C-SPAN’s the real pioneer at showing amateurs totally messing up.

A giant step backward for womankind: The astronauts aboard the International Space Station are getting an upgrade; their instant coffee, drunk through a straw from a pouch, will soon be replaced with freshly brewed espresso from an Italian-made espresso machine. Italy is sending the machine up with the first Italian female astronaut early next year.
A mechanical engineer and an air force pilot and Italy’s first female astronaut’s mission speciality will be barista.

Final destination: Rollin King, a Texas businessman who helped start Southwest Airlines and pioneered the idea of a low-cost, low-fare flights that bucked conventions, died Thursday at the age of 83.
As with Southwest flights, seating will not be assigned at King’s memorial service. But if you want to ensure an aisle seat, you can pay $40 to get an upgraded boarding pass.
