What’re you lookin’ at?

Las Vegas will soon have a new attraction: a museum devoted to the mobsters who helped transform the city from a place you couldn’t find on a map to one where you need a GPS just to find your way out of a casino (Page A2).

Among these men were influential figures known as Bugsy, Lefty and Tony the Ant. Now that we’re done snickering, we’d like to suggest nicknames for some figures in the news:

Al “The Planet” Gore: The former VP accepted his Nobel Prize on Monday, urging humanity to “make peace” with the Earth. The response was chilly in the central U.S., where thousands of people left without power by an ice storm cried, “But it hit us first!”

Dylan “Pretty Boy” McKay: The third season of “Beverly Hills, 90210,” just released on DVD was a busy one for Luke Perry’s character.

Among other things, Dylan loses a volleyball tournament, gets caught in a love triangle, is accused of cheating on his SATs, witnesses his father’s death in a car bombing and is voted most handsome senior, according to an online episode guide.

About the only thing he doesn’t do is collapse from exhaustion, unlike the careers of most of the “90210” stars.
