EVERETT — The Hillsboro Hops’ two-run first inning held up as the Everett AquaSox fell 2-1 on Wednesday at Funko Field.
Tommy Troy had an RBI single and Christian Cerda a sac fly in the first for the Hops.
Hillsboro’s Spencer Giesting (3-6) allowed one run over six innings on four hits and three walks. He struck out three. Carlos Meza pitched the ninth for his first save.
Cole Young hit a solo home run in the first for the AquaSox.
Reid VanScoter (9-5) allowed two runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts over six innings for Everett.
