GALLERY: Big 4th quarter lifts Stanwood boys over Cascade

The Spartans outscore the Bruins 33-18 in the final quarter to rally for a 64-54 win.

EVERETT — John Floyd and Max Mayo scored 15 points each, and Stanwood used a 33-point fourth quarter to overcome a five-point deficit and earned a hard-fought 64-54 league win over Cascade on Thursday night.

Cole Williams scored 13 points and Owen Thayer chipped in seven for Stanwood (4-0, 2-0 Wesco 3A/2A), which trailed 36-31 entering the final period before pulling out the 10-point victory. Williams scored nine of his points in the final quarter and Floyd scored eight of his 15 in the decisive fourth.

Devin Gilbert scored a game-high 20 points, Aidan Kopra added 13 and Nate Langutan chipped in 11, including a trio of 3-pointers, for Cascade (4-1, 1-1).

Both teams entered the game undefeated on the season.
