YAKIMA – Granite Falls finished seventh in the Class 2A state tournament Saturday at the Sun Dome.
Woodland dropped the Tigers into consolation play with a 15-13, 15-10 quarterfinal victory. Granite Falls then lost to fellow North Cascades Conference member Lynden Christian, 15-13, 15-17, 15-2, before defeating Grandview 15-10, 9-15, 15-13 for seventh place.
Denise Wilbur had 41 kills, Ashley Quinn had 48 assists and Becky Kirchgessner served 23-for-23.
Class B: At Cheney, Darrington settled for sixth place. Klickitat sent the Loggers into consolation play with a 15-10, 15-7 quarterfinal win. In consolation play, Darrington beat Pateros 15-13, 15-12, then lost to Garfield-Palouse 15-3, 15-4 before losing fifth place to Klickitat, 15-11, 15-9.
