Wesco North 3A Girls Tennis Tournament

STANWOOD — Top-seeded Snohomish junior Mak Dauer’s dominant showing at the Wesco North 3A Girls Tennis Tournament continued in Wednesday’s singles final.

Dauer swept Monroe’s No. 2 seed, Jaeda Boomars, by scores of 6-0 and 6-0 to finish the tournament without losing a single game. Boomars took second while Stanwood’s Gracie Ross claimed third.

Snohomish also won the doubles bracket, as the No. 1-seeded Panthers duo of Morgan Gibson and Annie Vanassche defeated Stanwood’s Addie Bowie and Mylee Lacomb (6-1, 6-3) for the title. Monroe tandem Tanisha Segran and Emiko Spengler beat Everett’s Aimelie Hovde-Girard and Avery Nasin for third place.

Wesco South 3A Girls Tennis Tournament

EDMONDS — Day 2 of the Wesco South 3A Girls Tennis Tournament saw four Shorewood competitors and tandems face off for first in the singles and doubles brackets.

In the singles final, senior Rylie Gettmann bested fellow Stormray Alex Mignogna by set scores of 6-0 and 6-3. The match marked Gettmann’s only time yielding a game in the tournament, as the top seed took first place while Mignogna claimed second as the No. 2 seed.

Meadowdale’s Katelynne Wyckoff bested Edmonds-Woodway’s Maddie Ashe for third by scores of 7-5 and 6-3.

In the doubles final, Shorewood’s Mari Brittle and Bridget Cox (No. 1 seed) faced fellow Stormrays Cally Webb and Addy Falkin (No. 6 seed). Brittle and Cox would claim first, though the match’s score was not reported.

Shorecrest’s Mia Halset and Lily Haessler faced another team of Scots in Zoe Greenzweig and Ally Miner for third. Greenzweig and Miner won in a thrilling match (7-5, 7-5).
