Prep stars of the night for Thursday, Sept. 26

PREP STARS OF THE NIGHT FOR THURSDAY, SEPT. 26:

Elijah Lopez, Glacier Peak boys cross country

Lopez, a senior, recorded a time of 16 minutes, 46.41 seconds to win a five-team meet on a 5,000-meter course at Skagit Valley College. Lopez’s effort also helped the Grizzlies earn the top team score against Mount Vernon, Stanwood, Mariner and Everett.

Hannah Thompson, Jackson girls soccer

Thompson, a senior defender/midfielder, scored off a corner kick early in the first period of extra time to give the Timberwolves a 1-0 win at Mount Vernon in a Wesco 4A match. It was Jackson’s second overtime win in its last three matches.

Anne Louise Fernandez, Arlington girls cross country

Fernandez, a senior, posted a time of 17 minutes, 30 seconds to win a four-team meet on a 2.6-mile course at Kamiak High School. Fernandez’s effort also helped the Eagles earn the top team scored against Marysville Getchell, Kamiak and Meadowdale.

Madison Long, Archbishop Murphy girls soccer

Long, a senior forward, scored a goal and dished out two assists, impacting all three Wildcats’ goals in a 3-2 Wesco 3A/2A win over Arlington.

Jasett Smith, Snohomish volleyball

Smith, a sophomore outside hitter/opposite/middle blocker, recorded 11 kills, 20 digs, two blocks and two aces, filling up the stat sheet in the Panthers’ sweep of Meadowdale in a Wesco 3A/2A match.
