MUKILTEO — Katie Petterson totaled 12 kills and Tiffany Nielson tacked on 10 as Kamiak dispatched Monroe in four sets in a 4A District 1 Tournament semifinal on Tuesday night.
Haley Beiermann and Kat Anderson combined for 31 assists for the Knights, and Jessica Clark led Monroe with 12 kills.
Kamiak will play Snohomish for the district championship and a state tournament berth at 7 p.m. on Thursday night at Mountlake Terrace High School.
“We played with heart and really tried to play our game,” Kamiak coach Natalie Bowie said. “We tried to be consistent, and in sets one and two, we played some of our best volleyball of the year.”
Monroe will take on Jackson in an elimination match at 5 p.m. on Thursday at Mountlake Terrace.
