Area schools struggle at Santa Slam

KIRKLAND — Everett, Cascade, and Mariner were three of the 23 state schools to compete at the Santa Slam Saturday night. Everett finished 14th, while Cascade finished 17th and Mariner fell to 19th.

LAKE STEVENS — Six area schools competed at the Valkrie Invite Saturday in Darrington, Everett, Glacier Peak, Marysville Getchell, Marysville Pilchuck and Lake Stevens. Although team scores were not reported, six wrestlers took home wins in their respective brackets.

NOTE: Some brackets were based on cumulative score after three bouts. Those with top-two finishes will be placed in a separate category.
