GIRLS WRESTLING

Braided 64

Kelso—Everett’s Mia Cienega won 190-pound weight class championship at the Braided 64, which is one of the largest all-girls tournaments in U.S. Cienega pinned her first three opponents in under a minute. In the semifinals, Cienega pinned Camas’ Avery Vega Padilla in 1:46. She faced Shorewood’s Abigaele Chishungu in the championship match, pinning her one second before the end of the 2-minute first round.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Hanna Baldock won four matches to reach the semifinals in 120 class. After loss in the semis, Baldock won the third-place match.

Beacon Hill Invitational

SEATTLE — Julia Cox finished second in the 235-pound weight class for the Mavericks. Maria Thompson finished third at 170, and Sofia Rodriguez Vazquez placed fourth in the 140 class.

KENT — Edmonds-Woodway’s Ever Yamada pinned Cashmere’s Jacoby Tait to win the 175-pound weight class. Carmelo Larocca (190) and Alex White (215) both placed fourth for the Warriors.

Beacon Hill Invitational

Seattle — Meadowdale’s Miguel Garcia advanced to the championship match of the 132-pound weight class to lead the Mavericks to the fourth-place team finish. Garcia pinned three opponents before running into Caden Barclay of Thomas Jefferson, who defeated Garcia by a 12-0 major decision. Michael O’Neal (120) and Luka Washburn (126) also finished second. Jackson Hulbert (285) and Jamier Perry (175) each finished third.

Edmonds-Woodway’s Mike Serafina pinned thee opponents to reach the championship match of the 215-pound class. Serafina dropped a 4-1 decision to Chief Sealth’s Eli Policarpio for a runner-up finish.
