GREAT FALLS, Mont. – Having reached the semi-finals of the Little league Softball Divisional Tournament on Wednesday, the South Everett senior (15-16 year-old) girls fastpitch team defeated the team from Butte, Mont., 3-2, then lost in the championship game 4-2 to the team from Baker, Ore.
The loss, their second of the tournament, left Washington one game shy of advancing to the regional tournament.
In the first game, Alyshia Smith was 2-for-3 with a double and Becca Carlson was 3-for-4. Smith had the game-winning hit to score Tiffany Thompson. In the second game, Leslie Compean was 2-for-2 to lead Washington.
