Volleyball rankings

The biggest surprise to me about this week’s state coaches’ volleyball rankings is the absence of Edmonds-Woodway.

I figured that the Warriors would surely break into the top 10 in Class 4A after soundly beating Kamiak a week ago. But maybe this will just give E-W more motivation to show everyone what they can accomplish.

Monroe, which beat E-W earlier this season, is No. 6 in 4A. And Kamiak, a winner versus Monroe on Oct. 2, dropped from fourth to seventh.

Other area squads in the poll are unbeaten King’s (first in 1A) and North Sound Christian (fifth in 1B).

Take a look at the full list.
