LYNNWOOD — A 43-year-old Lynnwood man was arrested Tuesday night after a lengthy SWAT standoff near his apartment in the 6100 block of 208th Street SW.
The man was arrested about 7:15 p.m., Lynnwood Deputy Police Chief Karen Manser said. No one was hurt.
The man for hours barricaded himself inside his apartment with a gun.
The incident started about 3 p.m. Neighbors asked police to check on the man after hearing noises from his apartment, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said.
“He was screaming obscenities inside of his apartment, making a lot of noise, growling and screeching,” she said.
The man was believed to be alone inside the apartment. When police arrived, he brandished a gun and refused to comply with officers, Sessions said. They called SWAT.
Parts of 208th Street SW were closed for the operation.
Officers on Tuesday evening were working to obtain a search warrant for the man’s home, Manser said.
