EVERETT — A naked man near a shopping center caused a ruckus on Wednesday afternoon in Everett.
Police were investigating whether drugs played a role in a man’s decision to disrobe and walk around in public in the 11400 block of Highway 99.
Police received a call about 2 p.m. that the nude man was west of the Wal-Mart parking lot in a wooded area, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. Another caller reported that the man was armed with a knife.
Officers detained the man with no trouble. They called firefighters to the scene to determine if the man needed medical attention.
“Officers were investigating why the man was naked and whether drugs contributed,” Snell said.
No other details were immediately available.
