Skydives raise $6K for Housing Hope

A Fill the Sky with Hope event led by Skydive Snohomish on June 25 raised more than $6,000 for Housing Hope, exceeding the event’s fundraising goal of $1,000.

In addition to donating a portion of the registration fees from the event, Skydive Snohomish also donated tandem skydives to seven Housing Hope residents.

“Skydiving is a metaphor for how these residents have leaned into their fear and taken the plunge to overcome obstacles in their own lives,” said Fred Safstrom, CEO of Housing Hope. “This event was a celebration of their achievements.”

Teen designs new soccer crest

The Lake Stevens Soccer Club recently recognized Christina Alldredge, a junior at Lake Stevens High School, for her work designing an original crest for the team’s new uniforms.

Alldredge incorporated Lake Stevens scenery into the crest, which depicts a soccer ball in water with trees and a mountain in the background.

Her design was then given to a professional developer for final touches.

Alldredge aspires to a career in graphic design or technical artistry. She will also attend Everett Community College this fall through the Running Start program.
