The Boeing Co. dropped an order for 35 single-aisle 737s from its order books, according to an update on the company’s website Thursday.
The cancellation comes as Boeing’s rival Airbus has logged more than 600 orders for its single-aisle A320 and A320 new engine option aircraft.
Boeing has just 70 net orders so far this year for its Renton-built 737. That includes an order for one 737 business jet that also was added Thursday.
Additionally, Boeing added an order for one 747 this week.
The company has 138 net orders through July 12.
