IONIQ 6’s streamlined appearance and various design elements, such as two active air flaps at the front, wheel air curtains, integrated rear spoiler, and wheel gap reducers, significantly enhance the model’s aerodynamic performance, placing it among the sleekest vehicles worldwide.

My tester garnered lots of looks with its”Transmission Blue Pearl” coat of enamel, 20-inch alloy wheels with a matte black finish, wide sunroof, and distinctive LED headlights and taillights.

Powered by dual electric motors and a battery pack that delivers 225 horsepower, 258 lb-ft of torque, and a 0-to-60 miles per hour time of 4.3 seconds. The extended range battery provides about 250 miles of range between charges and can be charged from 10 per cent to 80 per cent capacity in 18 minutes. Regenerative brake level control paddle shifters help increase efficiency.

IONIQ 6 is the first Hyundai model capable of being fully updated via over-the-air (OTA) software updates. This technology allows upgrading the vehicle’s controllers for electric devices, autonomous driving, battery, and more, to provide a safer and more convenient driving experience.

IONIQ 6 accommodates up to four passengers in comfort, five in a pinch, with an oversized trunk large enough to fit several full-size golf bags.

The Hyundai’s interior dazzles with a seemingly endless amount of comfort and convenience features. The touchscreen dashboard integrates a 12.3-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12.3-inch digital cluster that keeps driver and passengers in-the-know.

Highlights include heated and ventilated H-Tex seats, heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-color ambient lighting, aluminum pedals, dual-temperature control, Bose premium audio system, navigation system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless device charging, front and rear USB ports, Bluetooth hands-free system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, Sirius XM radio and more.

Many of IONIQ 6’s interior touch-points – seats, dashboard, headliner, door trim, and floor – also use eco-friendly, sustainable materials. Depending on the trim level, these include eco-processed leather with plant-based extracts, recycled PET fabric, bio paint derived from vegetable oils, and recycled fishing net carpet.

Convenience technology includes smart cruise control, remote smart parking assist, proximity key with push-button start, and power folding side mirrors.

IONIQ 6 delivers a smooth, quiet, stable ride on freeways and backroads alike. Acceleration and braking are instantaneous, with little to no roll around corners, even at speed. The combination, all with all-wheel drive, provide confidence in all driving conditions.

Hyundai’s advanced safety technology completes the IONIQ 6’s well-rounded list of attributes.

Highlights include forward collision-avoidance assist, blind spot collision-avoidance assist, lane keeping and lane following assist, rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist, parking collision

avoidance assist, parking forward/revers distance warning, driver attention warning, and rear occupant alert.

America’s best warranty only sweetens the deal. IONIQ 6 comes with a five-year, 60,000 mile new vehicle warranty, 10-year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and a 10-year, 100,000 mile electric vehicle system warranty.
