Jack Antonoff is getting to be sort of a big deal.
The musician, who will bring his band Bleachers to the Showbox at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, isn’t a household name yet, even though his music is becoming all but inescapable.
As guitarist for the indie pop trio fun., he scored big hits like “We Are Young” and “Some Nights.” Then, he dabbled in songwriting, helping pen tracks for pop stars including Taylor Swift, Sara Bareilles and Carly Rae Jepsen.
Now, his side project Bleachers is also lighting up iPods. The group topped the modern rock charts earlier this year with its single “I Wanna Get Better,” and then saw its debut album, “Strange Desire,” hit No. 11 on the Billboard 200.
Tickets are $22 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Indie rapper Hoodie Allen also is headed to Seattle for a show at the Paramount Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Allen is touring now behind his new self-released album, “People Keep Talking.” Like Macklemore, another rapper known for his self-released successes, Allen has made a name for himself by putting a strong dose of pop music into his hip-hop.
His new album could be the rapper’s breakthrough; his debut EP, which he also self-released, managed to crack the top 10 on the Billboard 200, thanks to the loyal fan base he’s cultivated.
Tickets are $26.25 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.
Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas, meanwhile, will bring his new band the Voidz to the Showbox at 9 p.m. Thursday.
Casablancas became the poster boy for the garage rock boom in the early part of the millennium as the front man for the Strokes.
His new band, the Voidz, hasn’t exactly sparked the same excitement, though. The group’s debut album, “Tyranny,” has confounded some critics and frustrated fans with seemingly indulgent songs like the lead single, “Human Sadness,” which runs nearly 11 minutes long.
Tickets are $25 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
The Showbox also will host Citizen Cope, as the singer plays a pair of shows at 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Citizen Cope, who blends folk, hip-hop and reggae, is celebrating the 10th Clarence Greenwood Recordings,” a fan favorite featuring the single “Bullet and a Target” and “Son’s Gonna Rise.”
Fans can expect to hear that entire album on this tour, along with some other favorite tracks.
Tickets are $36 to $41 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Relient K is also celebrating an album anniversary — the group will play the Neptune Theatre at 8 p.m. Friday to mark the release of “Mmhmm.”
Thanks to tracks like “Be My Escape” and “Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been,” the album became the group’s cross-over success, expanding the pop-punk band’s following beyond its original base of Christian rock fans.
Tickets are $20 at stgpresents.org or 877-784-4849.
Finally, a string of shows will keep the Showbox SoDo busy this weekend.
First up are the Black Veil Brides, a glam-rock act playing the venue at 7 p.m. Friday. The group, known for its gender-bending personas and hard rock songs, is touring behind “Wretched and Divine: The Story of the Wild Ones.”
Tickets are $29 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Then Crowder plays the SoDo at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The country-influenced Christian singer made a name for himself as the front man for the David Crowder Band, but is touring now behind his solo debut, “Neon Steeple,” which hit No. 9 on the Billboard 200 this year.
Tickets are $27 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
Finally Boyce Avenue will play the SoDo at 7:30 Sunday.
The pop rock group, which formed in 2004, has found success with its radio-friendly take on alt-rock. It then gained some more attention as vocal coaches on the TV show “The X Factor,” Simon Cowell’s follow-up to “American Idol.”
Tickets are $25 at showboxonline.com or 888-929-7849.
