Celebrate Mother’s Day in Snohomish County

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 14.

Restaurants:

Ivar’s: Their menu includes Ivar’s World Famous True Cod Fish ‘n Chips, Alaska Halibut Fish n’ Chips, Fried Prawns & Chips and more. For Mother’s Day, each Ivar’s location is creating a special brunch menu “fit for a queen.”

Emory’s on Silver Lake: Emory’s offers seafood risotto and Northwest bouillabaisse on a huge deck overlooking Silver Lake. On Sunday, they are hosting a brunch and offering some dinner specialties in honor of Mother’s Day.

Anthony’s Homeport in Everett: Anthony’s Homeport serves fresh Northwest Seafood with PNW waterfront views. Their most popular offerings include crab, salmon and clam chowder.

Fogo de Chão & Rare Society: Until recently, there weren’t a lot of classic, high-end options for steak dinners in Snohomish County. Now, get ready to sample Brazilian and Californian flavors at Lynnwood’s Fogo de Chão and Mill Creek’s Rare Society.

Desserts:

Pisces Pies Baking Company: Everett’s Pisces Pies carries on a family tradition — plus, it offers gluten-free and sugar-free options. This Mother’s Day, they will offer reserved seating with breakfast, special treats, and pie.

Snohomish Pie Co.: At Snohomish Pie Company, all products are made fresh from scratch daily at its locations in downtown Snohomish and Mountlake Terrace. Their menu offers lunch items, baked goods, and of course, pies.

House Balthazar: Lisa Laidlaw, owner of House Balthazar, experiments with new flavors of French macarons. Some of her most popular picks include salted caramel, chocolate mint, and pistachio rose.

The Mad Batter Bakehouse: If you are looking for a quick day trip this Mother’s Day, check out the Mad Batter Bakehouse on Whidbey Island. The Mad Batter Bakehouse makes decadent six-ounce cookies and other handmade baked goods. The flavors of cookies for sale are rotated every few days.

Activities:

Everett Farmers Market: The Everett Farmers Market is officially back on May 14, Mother’s Day. They consist of one-stop shops for all things locally grown, homemade and delicious – perfect for a Mother’s Day activity.

Visit Downtown Snohomish: Downtown Snohomish is home to plenty of activities and shopping, including antique stores, boutiques, restaurants, galleries, as well as biking and skydiving.

Visit Downtown Edmonds: Downtown Edmonds is the perfect place to enjoy the sun, check out local shops, and try some amazing restaurants.

Spa Day: Every mom can use a spa day. If you are looking for a place to take her, check out the best Esthetician and spa services in Snohomish County.

The Sleeping Beauty at Edmonds Center for the Arts: The Olympic Ballet Theatre will present “The Sleeping Beauty” May 13-14 at the Edmonds Center for the Arts.

Arlington Lavender Farm: At Arlington Lavender Farm, visitors can walk on a purple hillside abuzz with bees or stop by the farm store. It’s stocked with lavender soaps, lotions, lip balms, candles and more. On Sunday, they will be hosting their annual Mother’s Day event.

Local Shops for Gifts:

Grayhorse Mercantile: Grayhorse Mercantile is a specialty foods and home goods store located on Whidbey Island. Although they specialize in unique cheeses, the store also carries interesting beverages, varieties of shellfish and condiments, as well as beautiful and useful products for everyday life.

Malicious Women Co.: Malicious Women Co., founded in 2017 by Lacie Marsh-Carroll, produces soy-based scented candles with custom fragrances and labeled with witticisms, both profane and relatable. The colorful language touches on topics such as parenthood, cancer, weddings, military, and recovery.

Cassandra’s Closet: Located in Everett, Cassandra’s Closet sells both new and used clothing which will help make Mom feel special on Mother’s Day.

The Colors of Hawaii Gifts & Treasures: There aren’t any flights from Everett to Hawaii, but a trip to a gift store here could be the next best thing.

Burkett’s Home + Gifts: The new store carries cards, kitchen gadgets, children’s clothing and loungewear. Other offerings include French cookware, charcuterie boards, kitchen tea towels and the work of local artists.
