Red Wine & Chocolate Tour: Enjoy the wonders of Whidbey Island and the finest hand crafted local wines and spirits over two weekends in February. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 11, 12, 18 and 19, five local tasting rooms on Whidbey Island will offer samples paired with chocolate treats. Belgian beer and cupcake pairing: Everett’s Lazy Boy Brewing, 715 100th St. SE, Suite A-1, hosts a Belgian beer and cupcake pairing from open to close Feb. 10, 11, 12 and 14. Lazy Boy brewed five versions of its Belgian Golden Strong Ale, including lavender, cocao nibs, raspberry and chai, to pair with five similar cupcakes. Buy all five pairings for $20. Foggy Noggin Barleywine vertical tasting: Bothell’s Foggy Noggin Brewing, 22329 53rd Ave. SE, hosts its first vertical tasting event for its Duck’s Ass English Barleywine from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 17. Tastes of four different barleywines from 2013, 2015 and 2016 will be available. Brewed with 100-percent English-grown malted barley and hops, Foggy Noggin’s barleywine is 11.2 percent and 91 IBU. The final version is a Gold Label selection from this past year. It’s a historical brewing of Tennants 1954 Gold Label Barleywine. The event is limited to 20 people and tickets are $30. Skip Rock releases ‘Barrel Proof’ version of Rye Whiskey: Snohomish’s Skip Rock Distillers released the first Barrel Proof version of its Rye Whiskey in over a year on Friday. The “Barrel Proof” version is handpicked by owner and head distiller Ryan Hembree and comes in at 103.6 proof. This selection is limited to just 240 bottles and is only available at the distillery. The first version of the Barrel Proof rye scored 94 points and took first place in Beverage Testing Institute’s 2014 reviews. This is also the first time that Skip Rock will release its Rye Whiskey in 750-milliliter bottles.

Naked City to open Camano Island location: Seattle Naked City Brewery and Taphouse is opening a second location on Camano Island. According to a press release, the second location is set to open this spring and will be located in the same space that The Collective on Tap was housed at Terry’s Corner. Naked City has been in Seattle since 2008 and was named one of the Top 100 Beer Bars in America by DRAFT magazine three years in a row.
