Tonight at 9 p.m. at the Anchor Pub in Everett, Rushin’ Draggins (yeah, they changed the name again) play their first show ever. The band invited me come watch them practice this week and it is clear that these boys have been practicing like crazy to get ready for the show. They sound great.
I am really excited about this show for a few reasons. The fact that it’s their first show is pretty exciting and I can’t wait to hear more of their material because the stuff I’ve heard in practice was pretty darn good.
The other reason I’m excited is because Rushin’ Draggins are playing with Olympia Folk band Sunshine &Irony. I have never seen this band before but have been listening to their stuff online for a little while now and I’m in love. Sunshine &Irony member Madison Johnson, an Everett native, told me yesterday that she couldn’t be more excited to play her first hometown show.
I expect to hear a lot more out of both of these bands in the future and tonight is a chance to see them play together in Everett for $3. That’s hard to beat.
Rushin’ Draggins members Aron G, Jestin Smith and Derek Johnston were so excited about the show that they shot this video during practice the other night. It’s their new song “Flyin Again”
