I first got the chance to see Seattle’s Kris Orlowski open for Allen Stone back in January. I went to the Neptune that night to see Allen play with the Seattle Rock Orchestra but was lucky enough to get there in time to catch Kris’s set. He had my attention from the very beginning and I have kept my eye on him since.
Not only does Kris have a fantastic voice but he writes these incredibly deep and rich songs that you can lose yourself in. I’m not ashamed to say that Wednesday when I first saw the video for this acoustic version of “All My People Go” I wasn’t exactly productive. I just kept watching it over and over.
If you like this song and want some more Kris Orlowski, then you are in luck. Kris is playing this year’s Capitol Hill Block Party and Folk Life next weekend. He also has a new record in the works that should be out this fall.
