What’s up with Silversun Pickups latest tour?

The California group hasn’t played Seattle since 2007. Its upcoming tour finds it playing three shows in British Columbia and two in Oregon, but no Washington dates have been announced.

The schedule has a noticeable blank spot on Aug. 20, between the group’s Vancouver, B.C., and Eugene, Ore., shows, so it’s possible a concert will be added.

But that’s just three weeks away — not a ton of time to publicize a show. So maybe the group is skipping Seattle again. If that’s the case, fans can always enjoy live clips, like the one below.

Silversun Pickups — “Panic Switch” — Live

The Los Angeles group that doesn’t sound like the Smashing Pumpkins visited David Letterman to play its first No. 1, “Panic Switch,” much to the approval of the “Late Show” host.

Artic Monkeys — “Crying Lightning” — Video

Artic Monkeys contend with some obvious CGI in this video that — well, to be honest, it just really doesn’t look too cool, not even in a cheesy way. The song’s not bad, though, even if it is considerably less lively than what fans may expect from the band.

Yo La Tengo — “Here to Fall” — Video

I won’t go so far as to call this a “good” video, but it’s at least a little interesting, in a hypnotic sort of way. And the end has some slow-paced fun that show’s off the upcoming album cover. And hey, it’s Yo La Tengo, so there’s that.
