EDMONDS — A 16-year-old boy lost control of his car today and hit eight middle school students waiting for the bus on the sidewalk, Edmonds police said.
The College Place Middle School students, ages 11 through 13, were taken to Stevens Hospital. One boy suffered two broken legs, said hospital spokeswoman Beth Engel.
A girl suffered a minor concussion, another received a knee injury and a third girl received an ankle fracture, Engel said.
They were released from the hospital, along with three girls and a boy who had minor cuts and bruises, she said.
Witnesses said the teen, a student at Edmonds-Woodway High School, was driving fast and lost control, police said. Alcohol was not a factor.
The teen was questioned by police and released to his parents. No charges were immediately filed.
