ARLINGTON — An Arlington area man is recovering from gunshot wounds after a night of drinking turned violent.
The victim called 911 several hours after he was shot three times in the stomach and pelvic area early Sunday morning on property in the 18300 block of Burn Road. He was listed in critical condition Monday, officials said.
He identified a suspect, who was arrested for investigation of first-degree assault with a weapon.
An Everett District Court judge set bail at $250,000 on Monday.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies had to break into the locked trailer where the victim, 57, was found curled in the fetal position on a bed.
A man who disappeared into the woods after police arrived was taken into custody around 8:30 a.m. Sunday. He declined to talk to investigators.
The suspect, 34, and the victim lived on property owned by a third man. The property owner told detectives he rents trailers on his land for use as homes. He also said the suspect, victim and another man were drinking Saturday night.
Detectives continued to investigate the shooting Monday.
The victim called 911 around 7:20 a.m. Sunday. He told the dispatcher that he had been shot several hours before, according to court papers.
“He hasn’t told us why” he didn’t call sooner, sheriff’s office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
