SEATTLE — Bail was set at $2 million Monday for the father of an 11-year-old girl found shot to death in his home in the city’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.
William Harrold, 51, was arrested Saturday after police received a 911 call from the man’s girlfriend, who said she had found Tiffany Marie Granquist’s body in an upstairs bedroom of Harrold’s home.
The girl died of a single gunshot wound to the head, the King County Medical Examiner’s Office reported Monday.
No charges have yet been filed.
Granquist, who had been diagnosed with a behavioral disorder, was recently expelled from St. Therese Catholic School following an incident in which school officials said she slapped another student earlier this month.
Principal Eileen Gray said she talked to Harrold last week and refused to change her mind about the expulsion, telling him he would have to find another school for Granquist.
The girl lived with Harrold most of the time and spent the rest of her time with her mother, Roxanne Granquist, in Marysville.
