Update: The closure scheduled to begin June 18 was canceled due to rain. It will be rescheduled to a later date.
MILL CREEK — Some lanes on a small section of Highway 527, between 173rd Street SE and 15th Avenue SE, are scheduled to be closed Sunday. Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will be re-striping the roadway to remove the center turn lane and increase the width of the shoulders, a safety improvement aimed at helping pedestrians.
A two-direction center turn lane will remain for traffic turning left into the northern driveway of Lil’ Sprout Nursery, at 17414 Bothell-Everett Highway. The southern driveway out of the business will be restricted to right turns onto southbound Highway 527.
At least one lane will be closed from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m. The work depends on fair weather.
