GOLD BAR — Two men were rescued from the Reiter Pit area near Gold Bar on Wednesday night after they got lost while hiking.
The men, both 21, were hiking to Lake Isabel when they got on the wrong trail around 8:45 p.m., said Rebecca Hover, a spokeswoman for the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. The men are from Snohomish and Monroe.
They didn’t have any hiking equipment on them and were wearing lightweight clothes and tennis shoes, Hover said.
Dispatchers were able to send the hikers’ GPS coordinates to a sheriff’s helicopter crew. The helicopter crew found the men, and ground crews brought them to safety. No injuries were reported.
