SPOKANE — State troopers are used to chasing motorists they suspect of drunken driving but say this one came right to them.
Sgt. Michael Rupert and dispatcher Susan Bula noticed someone pull into the Washington State Patrol parking lot west of town about 4 a.m. Friday, backed into an unauthorized space and sat tight with the headlights on, trooper Mark Baker said.
After about 15 minutes, trooper Travis Robbins was summoned and arrested the man in the driver’s seat, Thomas Wood, 36, for investigation of drunken driving
“How often do the drunks come to you?” Bula asked.
