The election is over for nearly one-fourth of expected voters in Snohomish and King counties.
In King County, where a turnout of 68 percent is predicted by election officials, 15.29 percent of ballots had been returned as of 8 p.m Monday. That’s 164,126 out of 1,073,317 sent out.
And in Snohomish County, where Auditor Carolyn Weikel is predicting a 64 percent turnout, 13.8 percent of ballots were in as of Monday morning. In sheer numbers that amounts to 52,441 of the 379,181 mailed out.
Snohomish County opened new drop-boxes this election in which ballots can be placed any time of the day. Here’s info on that.
