EVERETT — A woman killed in a hit and run near Silver Lake was an Everett resident.
Tracy A. Gjernes was crossing the street around 8 p.m. Saturday in the 9700 block of 19th Avenue SE, when she was hit by a vehicle, according to Everett police.
She died of blunt force trauma, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. The death was classifed as homicide. She was 59.
The driver of the vehicle took off, possibly with damage to the front end of the vehicle. The fleeing vehicle was described as a red SUV.
Police were still investigating Wednesday.
