PORTLAND, Ore. – Officials in Hood River County said they are searching for a family of six that never returned from a Christmas tree cutting trip Saturday.
Randy Kellems, his girlfriend Tam Warnecke and his four young children left home on Saturday morning to get a tree near the town of Dee. The children are 4-year-old Madison, 7-year-old Emily, 9-year-old Autumn and 14-year old Jessica Kellems.
Kellems’ mother said the group was expected back at 9 p.m. but never returned.
Hood River County Dispatchers said rescue crews covered the area near Lost Lake and Lolo Pass.
The search is complicated by snowfall in the area – more than six inches Saturday night alone.
The grandmother says she is particularly worried about one of the girls who is autistic and suffers from seizures but doesn’t have her medication with her.
